An Ohio native, Pat was raised in Dayton, Ohio. Pat is an active member of the Ohio legal community, and he is a member of the Ohio Bar Association. He serves on the Ethics committee of the Dayton Bar Association. Listed as a Super Lawyer for a number of years, Pat takes pride in continuing his career in his home state.
Pat received his undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and studied law at the University of Toledo Law School. During his time at Toledo Law School, he served as associate editor of the Law Review. After passing the bar and clerking for the Second District Court of Appeals in Dayton, Ohio, he began his career as an assistant prosecutor with the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office, serving as an assistant prosecutor until 1987.
After five years, he joined Jacobson, Maynard, Tuschman & Kalur, a medical malpractice defense firm, as a trial attorney. Without missing a step, Pat put his experience to work for JMTK for ten years.

Pat moved on from the large law firm setting into a boutique practice. From 1998 – 2016, he founded a medical malpractice defense practice, Adkinson Law Office, and later join Poling Law as a trial attorney from 2016 – 2020. Throughout his career in medical malpractice defense, he has been the first chair attorney in more than 125 medical malpractice trials.
After 30 years defending medical providers in malpractice cases, Pat is returning to his roots as a prosecutor. Founded in 2020, Adkinson Law is a sole-practitioner plaintiff’s firm that concentrates on representing victims of medical malpractice.
